Biyolojik at\u0131klar, g\u0131da sanayii kaynakl\u0131 organik at\u0131klar, m\u0131s\u0131r veya \u015feker pancar\u0131 gibi enerji bitkileri ile hayvan besicili\u011finde olu\u015fan hayvansal d\u0131\u015fk\u0131lar biyogaz tesislerinde hammadde olarak kullan\u0131labilir. \u0130\u00e7erdi\u011fi metan gaz\u0131, biyogaz\u0131n \u0131s\u0131l de\u011ferini olu\u015fturan ana maddedir. Metan, karbondioksite g\u00f6re 23 kat daha fazla sera etkisine neden olur.
